Over 800 agents registered for yesterday’s webinar ‘Are you ready for a HMRC inspection’ held on the Rightmove hub – a reflection of the industry’s commitment to AML compliance and determination to meet the legal obligations set out by government.
Extremely useful and very interesting.
Really good – it is always great listening to FCS Compliance for updates as they make it into easy-to-understand chunks.
The webinar comes at a time when the FCS team has seen a significant rise in the number of agents reporting HMRC requests for evidence of AML compliance, typically at short notice. This is no surprise as the government comes under increased pressure to strengthen defences against ‘dirty money’, particularly in the property sector, following a stream of high-profile cases, including those revealed in ‘The Pandora Papers’.
It has made me look into our procedures and check we have everything that maybe asked of us.
Really informative today and I am now off to check all our policies and procedures have everything they require and set up another training session.
Presented by Malcolm Driscoll, Lead AML Consultant at FCS Compliance, the webinar covered the latest actions being taken by HMRC and the measures agents should take to protect themselves and their businesses.
Concentrated info. No waffle. Malcolm knows his trade inside out and also knows our trade which is refreshing.
