What you need to know about being a Money Laundering Reporting Officer
When it comes to Anti Money Laundering (AML), the stakes are high and the potential consequences of non-compliance serious, so taking on the responsibilities of MLRO known as the ‘Money Laundering Reporting Officer’ can be a daunting prospect.
Reports suggest that, in many cases, the legal requirement of appointing a MLRO and MLCO (Money Laundering Compliance Officer) – sometimes one and the same – has not been fully appreciated, and that, in fact, the very specific and significant tasks of the roles have unwittingly fallen to an unsuspecting member of staff who is underprepared and ill-equipped.
In this latest AML webinar, held at 10am on Wednesday 16 February on the Rightmove Hub, Malcolm Driscoll, Lead Anti-Money Laundering Consultant at FCS Compliance, will delve into what every regulated business needs to consider.
The webinar will cover:
- What are the responsibilities of the nominated compliance officer?
- What skills are required to be an effective MLRO?
- Understanding all the risks
- What to do if the MLRO is away
Attending agents will have the opportunity to share comments and ask questions live throughout the broadcast so they can leave feeling confident and prepared.
The webinar is free of charge to Rightmove members. Early registration is recommended.
