Rightmove to host two further FCS Compliance webinars: filing SARs (15 Dec) and undertaking effective CDD (19 Jan)

15 December: How to submit an effective Suspicious Activity Report (SAR)

19 January: Undertaking Effective Customer Due Diligence

Criminals continue to be drawn to the real estate market as a conduit for hiding their illicit funds and now, perhaps more than ever, estate agents are having to be particularly vigilant. With the spotlight on the industry, it is essential that agents fully understand their own role and legal responsibilities when it comes to tackling money laundering. In response to demand and following the success of last month’s webinar to which hundreds attended, Rightmove will be hosting two further FCS Compliance webinars this month and next.

The first of these will be held on the morning of Tuesday 15 December when FCS Managing Director, Jerry Walters, will provide expert guidance on ‘How to submit an effective Suspicious Activity Report (SAR).’ In this session, attendees will learn more about reporting suspicious transactions and the role that the National Crime Agency (NCA) plays in the process.

Jerry will cover:

1.  What exactly are Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and why are they necessary?
2. The scale and role you play when it comes to the filing of a SAR
3. Who is the National Crime Agency and what is their role when it comes to AML?
4. The responses you can expect from the NCA
