FCS Compliance is to sponsor the 2021 LAPADA Conference which takes place at 10-11 Carlton House Terrace in London on Tuesday 12 October.
Now in its 13th year, this one-day event will be one of the first opportunities for LAPADA members, dealers and collectors in the UK’s art and antiques trade, to get together and meet face-to-face since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2021 programme centres around the topic of ‘Reset and Refresh’ and aims to help the trade find new opportunities in both their galleries and online as the world opens up.
James Golfar, Managing Director at FCS Compliance, said, “We are pleased to be supporting this year’s LAPADA Conference and look forward to meeting many members face-to-face after such a long time.”
He added, “With life beginning to return to a degree of normality, AML compliance is back on the government’s agenda. And it’s worth remembering that the government, in its National Risk Assessment Report, ear-marked the art sector as one that is at high risk of money laundering. Add to this that since June this year, implementation of the Fifth Money Laundering Directive means that Art Market Practitioners (AMPs) must be up to speed with the necessary procedures and documentation if they are to avoid onerous fines and reputational damage.”
As a LAPADA Approved Service Provider, FCS Compliance supports many LAPADA members to ensure their businesses are AML compliant and prepared for potential HMRC inspection.
With a respected team of AML experts highly-experienced in financial investigation, FCS offers a comprehensive range of services all under one roof – from legally-required written documentation and training courses, to CDD services and consultancy. Attendees to the conference are invited to join us at our exhibition stand to find out more about how we can help their businesses.
